Zimbabwe has capacity to supply fertiliser in Africa — African Union

Of major concern, Zimbabwe has become a net importer of phosphate fertilizer, irrespective of abundant phosphate deposits.

THE African Union (AU) says Zimbabwe has the capacity to manufacture fertilizer for the whole continent. In an interview with the Daily News yesterday, AU director in the department of agriculture Godfrey Baihiigwa said Africa must reduce fertilizer imports.  “Most of the fertilisers we use on this continent come from three countries-Russia, Ukraine and Belarus….
