SANDON Academy in Gutu, Masvingo Province, has recorded a 100 percent pass rate in the 2021 Ordinary and Advanced levels Cambridge examinations.
This is the third year running that the institution has recorded maximum pass rates in the Advanced Level (‘A’ Level ) examinations.
The best ‘A’ Level student, Layton Mhlanga, scored 29 points in science and commercial subjects.
For ‘O’ Level, two students, Tafadzwa Chidume and Prime Nkala, had 12 and 11 As respectively.
Sandon Academy principal, Thokozile Mupundu, told the Daily News at the weekend that the institution was aiming to maintain the high standards it has set for itself over the years.
Deputy minister of Labour and Social Welfare Lovemore Matuke, who is the school patron, praised Sandon Academy for their fine performance.
“The pass rate shows that the future of this country is bright. I want to thank Sandon Academy for continuing to attain a 100 percent pass rate.
“Nkala broke the country’s record by registering 11As plus at ‘O’ level. Education sector plays an important role in economic development,” Matuke said.
